“My mother asked me why I would want to see back after back as a chiropractor, the same thing all the time. It was not long that I realized I would be seeing person after person, helping them with a wide variety of problems, not just backs or back pain.

When I was in grade school, my grandmother asked my siblings and me who would be her chiropractor. I immediately spoke up and said that I would! I never looked back. I knew this was my calling. I saw the joy in her eyes as I set forth on my journey. I was fortunate enough to have support of my family and friends. Dr. LoPresti, a dermatologist and father of my friend Nick, gave me a recommendation to meet Dr. Mazzarelli in NJ. He assured me that Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA was the only place to go. There were a lot of choices, but he was right.

A Chiropractic Education

I received my undergraduate degree from La Salle University in Philadelphia, PA. I majored in biology with a minor in psychology. Dr. Franz was one of my favorite professors, offering guidance and excitement about my career choice. I chose to go to the fountainhead of Chiropractic, Palmer College of Chiropractic. My father and I visited the college and got to attend a rugby game. One of the players got injured on the field. A bunch of guys ran onto the field, one performed an adjustment on the player. He got up and ran into the game like nothing ever happened! My entire experience at Palmer was one I will never forget. I am still friends with many faculty and staff there and I still get great hugs from the ladies at the bookstore.

My Philosophy

The philosophy of chiropractic is so important to me that I spent over five years obtaining a degree in Chiropractic Philosophy. The power that made the body, heals the body explains much of what we do. The body knows how to function, it just needs no interference. I love adjusting children, they respond so well and so completely. For example, a little 5-month-old girl named Charlotte was told she would never walk or be normal. Following a traumatic birth which left her with a broken arm, broken clavicle, supposed spina bifida and scoliosis, I urged her aunt to bring her in with her mother. After her first adjustment, I called her house to check on her. Her grandmother told me that she did not know what I did, but Charlotte had not been that happy since birth. She now walks, talks and is perfectly normal. Anything to please a grandmother!

On a Personal Note…

I moved to Alaska In February of 1995 as a new chiropractor with a ton of passion for helping people with chiropractic care. I opened my own practice in 2000. I am blessed with two wonderful sons; Cooper (2003) and Vincent (2006). They are my pride and joy, my two favorite humans. I travel to Arizona every other week to see my boys and patients there. I have been president of the Alaska Chiropractic Society for over a dozen years. After a few years of a weekly radio show, Living Well Adjusted, we have transformed it into a weekly podcast. It has been a wonderful few decades and I look forward to serving patients for many years to come.
